Meditation And Loneliness

Meditation was able to reduce effects of loneliness in adults. Thus, a recent study presented at Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Besides to expel loneliness, meditation has a positive impact on health.

This conclusion is obtained researchers after studying 40 healthy respondents aged 55 to 85 years. Half of the participants through individual meditation program, the control group, as well as the rest of the day.

Participants then learn about body awareness, and skills of sensation and breathing techniques. They were asked to practice it for 30 minutes every day.

At the end of the program, those who meditate on average scored higher on a questionnaire designed to measure the level of loneliness, when compared with other groups.

For it, the authors David Creswell recommends adults to do this program every day, 15 to 20 minutes at least, to see the benefits.
